Some "interesting" people who merit recognitation for their military service, or Merchant Marine careers, or their part in the Navy's Military Sealift Command. Keep up to date on this website and you might find yourself acknowledged here also!
Photos of LeeRoy Lance, who I enlisted in the Navy in Corpus Christi, Texas in Feb '72 when I was assigned recruiting duty in this Gulf Coast City. At the time of enlistment LeeRoy was going to Texas A & M. I also enlisted his sister, Janette Lance. My old mind had forgotten this until LeeRoy reminded me!! I knew LeeRoy was an intelligent kid and would go far in the military, but I didn't know how shrewd he was until 40 years later when he contacted me via email. Thus this photo below:

Captain LeeRoy Lance and his sister, Commander Jeanette Lance,
who (like her brother) started her Navy career as an enlisted
and worked her way up. The term "mustang" means an enlisted
who went through the ranks and became an officer later.LCDR
Jeanette Lance started as an ET (electronics Technician), and
became the first WAVE to graduate from the newly revamped
curriculum for ETs; it was a self-paced, modular type course.
Captain LeeRoy commissioned her as an Ensign on November
22, 1986. Jeanette retired in 2002.
LeeRoy and Linda (RN) getting married 1972. My wife, Charlotte,
worked with Linda at Spohn Hospital in Corpus Christi. She's the
one who introduced Linda to LeeRoy!! Yep, like me and Charlotte,
they're still married!! That's me in uniform, my recruiter's badge
below my ribbons.

My Merchant Marine 3rd Assistant License. Sailed aboard USNS Redstone, a Military Sealift Command ship, with this. It was a lot of work and a helluva lot of responsibility. I have nothing but respect and admiration for those that have any type of Merchant Marine License.
USNS Henry J. Kaiser, a Military Sealift ship. Of the three vessels I sailed aboard with Sealift, I have to vote this as the best one. I was a Jr. Engineer, a CPO type of status, ratewise.
