We never told anyone.  We promised.  Anyway, who would have believed three young boys telling such a tale in the summer of 1956?  Albert Perez was 15, same as me, Billy Sneed.  "NoNo" (Raul De Las Santos) was 14.  That was 45 years ago.  We hid it all these years.
     Now it's time to talk.
I can tell it now, but all the emotion and pain is still there.
If we had had any inkling of the horror that night would bring, we would have all stayed at home under the bedcovers!  I would have even touched the three-foot chicken snake that Albert carried coiled around his neck for the past two weeks.

Note:  This novella is completed at 30,265 words.  It has actual photographs throughout the story.

If all goes well with the publication and sales of BLACK OIL CHIEF, USN, I will have this novella published next.  It's a hot story with bookoos of action.  Even all the names are real...with permission, of course. Here's a photo of the rowing champ of Clear Creek in 1956....ME!!  The story was tough to write, considering what all happened that night, especially to my dog, Spotty.
