LAW ENFORCEMENT
I got started in law enforcement rather late in life.  At age 57, I attended the Kilgore Police Academy under their reserve program.  I was trying to upgrade the "Security" status at a local college where I was employed.  After passing phase 1 of the 3 phase class, I was allowed to join the Harrison County Sheriff's Office as a reserve deputy in a "conditional" status until I completed the academy and passed the state examination for a licensed peace officer.

I recently rejoined the Harrison County Sheriff's Office as a reserve deputy. So I am starting my 6th year as a deputy.  My primary mission is courthouse security (like at the airports) where I screen people coming to the courthouse. I do ride patrol on occasion and do other duties like security at the high school during football games and such.
